Ingredients
2 1/4 cups
All-purpose flour
1/2 cup
All-Bran cereal
2 tablespoons
Sugar
2 tablespoons
Fresh parsley (minced)
1 tablespoon
Baking powder
1 tablespoon
Fresh thyme (minced)
1 1/2 teaspoons
Fresh rosemary (minced)
1/4 teaspoon
Salt
1/2 cup
Butter (cold)
1 large
Egg (room temperature)
2/3 cup
2% Milk
2 teasoons
2% Milk
Step by Step Instructions
- Combine the flour, all-bran, sugar, parsley, baking powder, thyme, rosemary, and salt. Cut in the butter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
- Whisk the 2/3 cup of milk and the egg together. Stir it into the flour mixture until just moistened. Place the dough onto a floured surface and knead it 10 minutes.
- Preheat oven to 425 degrees. Roll the dough out to 3/4 inch thickness and cut it with a floured biscuit cutter.
- Place the biscuits into a greased oven-proof skillet and brush the tops with the 2 teaspoons worth of milk. Bake for 12 to 15 minutes and serve warm.
