Ingredients
4 tablespoons
Unsalted butter
1/2 teaspoon
Crushed red pepper flakes (optional)
4
Minced garlic cloves
1/4 cup
Dry white wine
2 tablespoons
Lemon juice
1/2 teaspoon
Lemon zest
1 teaspoon
Salt
1/4 teaspoon
Pepper
1 pound
Chopped asparagus
1 pound
Shrimp
1/2 cup
Finely chopped basil
Additional herbs for seasoning if desired
Step by Step Instructions
- Heat the butter in a skillet until it completely melts and begins to brown. Add the red pepper flakes and garlic and saute for 1 minute.
- Pour in the white wine, stir and allow mixture to simmer. Stir in lemon juice, lemon zest, salt, and pepper and cook for 2 minutes. Add asparagus and cook for 2 more minutes.
- Add the shrimp into the mixture and let it simmer for about 5 to 7 minutes. Stir in the basil. Remove from heat and add any additional seasoning if desired. Serve warm with rice or pasta.
